Marsden Point was built in the 1960s and expanded under Think Big in the 1980s, but this week the refinery will be shut and replaced with an import terminal named Channel Infrastructure.

The people of our Nation paid to construct this oil refinery so that it may guard us against the inflationary effects of geopolitical turmoil. Management is having its oil refining capabilities removed through internal sabotage, leaving us reliant on international supply.
The time has come to stop this by occupying the Marsden Point Oil Refinery.
We invite all responsible men and women to join us in the safe management of this occupation

In a time of global upheaval and energy instability the company asked the government for permission to scuttle and destroy the plant to make it inoperable and irreparable for future use. New Zealand will be 100% reliable on offshore production and delivery through stormy and uncertain seas.
On the 1st of April 2022 the company operating New Zealand’s only fuel oil refinery closed the refining operations.
In a time of global upheaval and energy instability the company asked the government for permission to scuttle and destroy the plant to make it inoperable and irreparable for future use. New Zealand will be 100% reliable on offshore production and delivery through stormy and uncertain seas.
The government granted permission for the company to destroy our only source of energy independence and fuel production.
If we allow them to put us into this position during a global security crises, New Zealand could grind to a total stop, fuel prices could become so expensive that only the wealthy will be able to travel outside of their own towns, the cost of food production could become so great that millions of people could fall below the bread line.
Not only is the destruction of our refinery vandalism of the inheritance that our forefathers left for us, it is economic and social vandalism by criminals who care only about money and power.
The company is attempting to move demolition equipment into the refinery, the complicit New Zealand police have set up an encampment within the refinery, there are a few brave men and women who have dug in and are holding the line but they need your help!
This is a call to all New Zealanders who care about the success of this country and its children! We need you, your country needs you, your children’s children need you!
