Were hundreds of thousands of Kiwis truly misled down a rabbit hole of disinformation, driving a wedge through our society during our pandemic response? …or were fair and important points pushed from the public domain? Broadcaster Peter Williams, self-deregistered GP of 40 years Dr Anne O’Reilly and freelance Sociologist Jodie Bruning share their perspectives on how New Zealand’s freedom of speech in media, medicine and academia was impacted by suppression over the last three years.

A note from writer/director, Sam:
The hardest part of making Silenced, is marketing it. These times are unique conditions for marketing such a documentary. My aim was to make it good enough to market itself – but that still requires help… from you. You know who needs to see this. And I know the idea of sharing it with them is difficult. But consider partnering your share with your personal words about why it’s important for New Zealanders to see. Or tell them how credible the people it features are, with their knowledge and experience. Watch it with them, or ask what they thought, and listen. And please, share with me here your success in building any bridges of understanding, of any healing conversations or new perspectives it brings to your loved ones you’ve been embattled with. I made this for unity, for balance, for truth and for healing. Before you buy me a coffee (you can do that too – on the Silenced web page!) – share it with those who can learn. If you have any questions about the documentary drop them here, I’d love to answer them!
